Support » Fixing WordPress » Blog To Categories

  • Okay, So I am not quite sure if I am doing this correctly. So I feel like starting over with advice that is correct from the people here at the wordpress forums.

I created a website. My main intentions are the following:

Have a navigation bar that includes
    Home Life News Gaming Television

When I make a blog post, I want it to go under Home.
I also want it to go under the category that I assigned it to.
I have made categories already but I don’t know the correct way to make these posts not only go to the home page but each category that I list the post under.

People have recommend me videos to watch but I haven’t had luck with any of them yet. I just want a clear answer on how to do this.

    Thank you,

The way blogs work is like this:

All post appear on your homepage

Posts also appear in categories once you’ve assigned them a category.

WordPress also assigns one category as a default.

So when you write a post, you choose which category to assign it to. If you do not select one, it will be assigned the default one.

I understand that, but I don’t understand how I can link these category pages to the links on the navigation bar.

The posts go to the categories but I want the categories to show up on the pages on the navigation bar.

    just goto http://localhost/wordpress/wp-admin/nav-menus.php

and add your category as menus
