    Hi mangodigital,

Can you go to Settings, Reading and tell me what you have set for Front Page Displays?

Also, you are running Yoast’s WordPress SEO plugin and All in One SEO Pack. You cannot run multiple SEO plugins, you’ll need to deactivate one of them.

Finally, something is using output buffering on your site so if the title tag isn’t being written properly then you’ll need to go to All in One SEO, Performance and disable Force Rewrites if you have them enabled.

Thanks for your response, Yoast was installed a few hours ago as our plan B in case we can’t solve this.

    I have now disabled it.
I have also disabled force rewrites.

    The settings are as follows:
    Front page displays

    A static page (select below)

    Front page: Homepage
    Posts page: Blog

Blog pages show at most 10 posts
Syndication feeds show the most recent 10 items

For each article in a feed, show

    Full text

    Thanks,

What do you have set under All in One SEO, Home Page Settings, Home Title and Home Description?

Thanks so much, may it have been your suggestion:

    Which solved it.

The meta description is behaving as it should do now.
Is there anything to be wary of if force rewrites are disabled?

    HI mangodigital,

No, we added this to take care of issues where other plugins or themes use output buffering. Because we also use output buffering to write the title it means that the two can tread over each other so this just ensures that doesn’t happen.
