    Hi WordPress community,

    I have a worpress build that i run as a website with a blog. the reading settings of the site are set as Front page: Home, Post page: Blog and currently displays post that I make - Fine

    My question comes when i'm looking at the actual Blog page (under the pages tab) I would like to add a heading and an introduction to my page also input some titles / meta descriptions. These don't display, why? and how (if possible) can i get them to appear?

    Currently the page displays a list of blog posts, no introduction, and uses the sites default title.

    You want a custom front page for your blog?

    Meta descriptions will go into the code... it is not for the display, but i guess you want to make a more customized homepage for your blog?

    also, post your blog's link so that we can be sure about what you want...

    Hi Home-remedy

    Thanks for the reply. Ok so your saying this is has to be done at the code level rather than a setting i've missed.

    If i was to edit the index.php and add the heading / introduction - would'nt that appear on each of the individual blog pages?

    <?php get_header(); ?>
    <div class="container" id="main">
     	<div class="span-16 maincontent"><h1>blog</h1><p>Introduction Introduction Introduction</p>
    		<?php if(have_posts()) : while(have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>
    <h1><a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>"><?php the_title(); ?></a></h1>
    		<?php the_content(); ?>
    		<?php endwhile; endif; ?>
    	</div>
    <?php get_sidebar(); ?>
    <?php get_footer(); ?>

    so firstly, if am getting your correctly.. you want a custom Title, some descriptions etc. to appear on every post and page of your blog?

    For this, you might have to edit more than one page. I have done this quite a few times, but different themes are coded in a different way, and some platforms such as thesis has all the features built in already..

    so basically from the header, to the sidebar pages, and the single page... etc. go through editing them and tweaking them... and you will be finally able to have it customized..

    make sure to backup before going into all this,
    cheers,

    Sorry if i'm not being clear, but thats the thing i dont want the introduction to appear on everypage...it does that now :/

    Currently when i click the blog link on my site it displays a full list of the posts, with the name of the post linking to an individual page. Am i correct in saying that they are both using the index.php layout that I have shown above?

    How do you create a template for individual blog posts as oppose the the index.php that is used for the main blog page

    Also could you give me the code to manipulate the title on the blog page?

    + i'm not using thesis

    Thanks again for the help ^_^
