Blog Post vs Page (custom post type)

So i found a theme that has a fantastic page template, but I am not such a fan of their Blog Post template.

I have a personal photo blog with about 200 posts, thinking of using this template and recreating all my blog posts as pages that have a theme specific custom type. Aside from the differences like ordering etc between pages and posts, is there any reason i should be concerned about moving away from posts and simply using a lot of pages for my blog? Any considerations i should be making for performance, stability, best practice etc… or is it just simply not a good move?
