• I’m having some difficulties in Ocean WP to perform some situations.

1 – The pagination of the blog page, which does not change the existing pages, is only showing the same posts. I even managed to partially fix this, because as we have few posts yet, I only increased the amount of posts that appear per page. But I would like to resolve the situation so that, when there are more posts, the page happens normally.

2 – Post categories are not linked to posts, at least that’s what it seems, since when you click on the category in question, even if it changes the page to the url of the category itself, all posts from all categories.

3 – Searches carried out within the blog do not show the correct result, again the page loads the correct url, with the search term, but on the page loaded the results are always the same posts. I use the Relevanssi plugin to index the posts.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    1. I don’t know what’s wrong with the paging. The default WP paging works well with Relevanssi; is your site doing something custom with the pagination? Sounds like it might be. Is Relevanssi getting the pagination information?

    2. What do you mean by this exactly? Do you mean the category links on the sidebar? Those are normal category links and work as a normal category link. If you want a category filter, then the link shouldn’t be /categoria/rede-de-protecao/, but instead, something like /?s=mezanino&cats=22.

    3. Sounds like there’s a problem in passing the search query to Relevanssi. These are probably the results you get without a search term. Does the Relevanssi admin search (Dashboard > Admin search) work correctly?

OceanWP should work with Relevanssi, at least the last time I checked. Are you perhaps using other plugins that might affect this?

Hi Mikko, thanks for the help.

1- I don’t know exactly what could be wrong, I didn’t make the site. I’m just from marketing and I’m creating content for the blog. I was able to make the posts appear, because I increased the amount of posts per page in the element settings within the blog. But if I lower this limit, there is a situation where you have the pages to change, at the end of the blog page, 1, 2 appears, but when you click, the page doesn’t change. I only installed Relevanssi after these errors happened, to see if it would work. But nothing has changed. I believe he’s getting it, because I followed the plugin’s own settings and guide.

2- These are the categories created when making posts within the blog, in which I insert the category within the post page. It is added on the BLOG page, through the standard WordPress categories widget. Whenever I’ve done it this way in other BLOGs, it works as a filter, that when clicking on this category, only posts related to that specific category appear. Regarding this filter that you mentioned, I never needed to do it on other sites, and I also don’t know how to make this change, so it is as you described.

3- Strange, because I made all the configurations guided directly by the Relevanssi configuration guide. Yes, Admin Search works correctly, pages and posts related to the search term appear.

I use several other plugins, but all for other functions, none for that purpose.

It’s easy to rule out the theme from this. Try a live preview of Twenty Twenty One or one of the other WP default themes. Does the search work during the live preview? The problem is in your theme; if it doesn’t, the problem is likely another plugin.

I tested the free version of OceanWP on one of my sites, and everything worked well. There’s no particular reason why OceanWP shouldn’t work with Relevanssi, and I think it’s likely something else. Are you using the free version of OceanWP or the Premium version?

I would try disabling other plugins to rule out a plugin conflict. This isn’t normal behaviour, so it’s possible a plugin is interfering.

Is the search results template done with Elementor? That’s a possible explanation. Elementor should work well with Relevanssi, but if the template is not doing the right things for some reason, the results will look like something like this.

I haven’t made a search result page, I believe it’s already automated after the search. Or am I wrong? And that’s why I need to manually make the result page so that the search can appear

    Plugin Author Mikko Saari

    (@msaari)

The default search results page in Ocean WP should work with Relevanssi, with no modifications required.

I’m sorry, but I can’t tell why the search results page is not working. I’d need to see what’s happening behind the scenes, and that’s a service I can only provide to Relevanssi Premium customers.

These debugging instructions may be helpful.

What does your theme search results template look like?

Would it be a screenshot? Or her code?

Please post it to a Pastebin. However, if it’s just the default OceanWP template, then that doesn’t help.

Could you help me tell you where to find this information? Which link should I look for?

    Plugin Author Mikko Saari

Do you use a child theme? If so, it’s the file search.php in your child theme folder. If you don’t use a child theme, then this does not matter.

Yes, and that’s, unfortunately, the OceanWP default search results template, and it doesn’t help to solve this. That same OceanWP default template works perfectly on my test site.
