# Blog not loading properly

 * My students are occasionally having trouble loading the page (it only loads a
   little bit then stops). It doesn’t happen every time, but it happens to enough
   of them on both the school and their home computers. I don’t know how to fix 
   it because I don’t know what’s happening.
 * When I tell them to close out their browser and reopen it (thus, clearing their
   cache) it usually works. But, it is happening on all their computers often and
   this seems like an annoying and only temporary fix. I’m not sure if it is a particular
   post causing the problem or if that’s even possible.
 * I’ve also noticed the blog isn’t showing up correctly in my blog reader emails.

   and you shouldn’t be using a word processor like Open Office for writing your
   posts. Here’s some of the incorrect code it’s putting in your posts:

 * Repaste your text from a plain text editor. People usually get in trouble using
   MS Word to write their posts, but it looks like word processors in general are
   a problem.

 * Excellent! Thank you! Is there any way to know what specific posts have the problem?
   I looked at that code errors link and don’t really understand it. I haven’t been
   using OO very long, but I don’t remember which ones I used for it.

 * Can I copy and paste the blog text into Mac Text Edit and then copy and paste
   it from there into wordpress? Or do I have to retype the whole post?

 * Look for OpenOffice.org in your browser source code. Here’s one post with that
   problem:
 * giant-rodents-in-south-america
 * I use TextEdit to write my posts from scratch, but to clean out weird pasted 
   text stuff, convert your TextEdit document to a plain text format first: In the
   TextEdit menu, go to **Format -> Make Plain Text**.
 * As far as code errors go, the most important ones to fix are those involving **
   div** tags.
