Blog membership invite only?

    Hi all,
    I’ve been searching for a plugin that allows me to make membership ‘invite-only’. I specifically want this in order to slowly roll-out memberships to trusted friends/family for comment-purposes. Kotaku.com does this quite well, and WordPress even did this when it was rolling out it’s services (I believe).

    Basically, a unique link/invite number or code is given to a trusted user + 1 extra code for them to give to a friend. With these codes, they are able to register to my blog in order to leave comments.

    Anyone know of any plugins which sound similar?

    When wordpress.com was in beta, it had an invite code system, but I have never heard of regular WordPress having something like that. There are restriction plugins that you can try, though. I know that isn’t exactly what you are looking for, but it’s the closest thing I can think of. Good luck and I hope that helps somewhat.

    Hi and thanks for the reply. I’ll give some of those plugins a try, but yeah, nothing that quite fits what I’d need. I’d imagine this would be a pretty popular plugin (?) I’m suprised I’ve found little to no information about it.
