    hi. i've been developing THIS SITE. everything is going really well on the dev server... but when i put it up online to check progress... well -

    the pictures on the main blog are not linking to the single-blog.php file...

    i am really confused. haven't really had this problem - but i'm using some new ideas and some different permalinks this time.

    here is the code i'm using...

    <?php query_posts('category_name=blog&showposts=60') ?>
    		<?php if (have_posts()) : while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>
    		<div <?php post_class() ?> id="post-<?php the_ID(); ?>">
    			<div class="entry">
    				<a href="<?php the_permalink() ?>">
    				<?php the_title() ?>
    				<a href="<?php the_permalink() ?>">
    				<?php the_content() ?>
    				<?php echo get ('blog_entry') ?>
    			</div> <!--end entry-->
    		<?php endwhile; ?>
    		<?php else : ?>
    			<h2>Not Found</h2>
    		<?php endif; ?>
    	        </div> <!--end post class thing-->

    the content is the image... and the blog-entry is a custom field for text.

    as you can see - the "title" is linking properly...? ? ?

    any help would be much appreciated. i am pretty comfortable with code... but basically there are still many mysteries to me / in that "wordpress just knows what to do." but i don't know why it knows...

    You need to go into the post where the image is inserted and click on the image and then click the Edit Image icon to the left of the Cancel icon. In the popup window under the Link URL input window you need to change the link to the URL of the post you would like the image to link to.

    hi Jarret. well - i could do that... but i can't really ask my client to go into every photo and write out a URL (that wouldn't even exist until they created the post) for every post. i'm kinda using WP as a CMS and i'm trying to keep everything as simple as possible...

    is there anyway to do this globally ?

    so i went in to edit the image link. i just set it to none... and then the permalink i had added worked as expected hoped.

    however... it would really help me out if i could somehow make the images have no link as a standard preference... ???

    i looked at some plug ins - and THIS ONE, "remove link url" is working like a charm. this way i don't have to ask my client to check "none" every time they upload an image.

    i have a bad feeling that i'm going about this whole thing the wrong way though...
