No, because I’m using WordPress MU – it only has one instance of the installation files and one database – but lots of blogs running off it.

The main blog is at http://groups.wdm.org.uk, then I have several others on http://groups.wdm.org.uk/blogname

What I did was change the url of one of the blogs in the backend. I’ve done it with no problems with others, but somehow this one has gone wrong.

There is also the 404 eror page wich somehow seems to forward to the /edinburghandlothians url (or at least there is some conflict there).

Does anyone else have any suggestions?

I originally changed the url in the Site admin > Blogs, then changed every instance of ‘edinburgh’ in the database to ‘edinburghandlothians’.

Search the db again, see if you missed any.

I really try to discourage people from doing this on a regualr basis. 😉

man we need to get MU’s added to the version list so we know what’s going on.
we’re not used to having MU users here.

If they stay in the multisite section, I’ll find them. But if not… yeah.

yea, I was answering the “no replies” and seldom look at what section I’m in – guess I’ll start now :>)

@sam if you see one I need to look at, just tag it multisite.

    @samboll 🙂

@andrea_r Some tables in the database don’t seem to save the changes I make. For example wp_10_options. Others are fine. Any idea why?

Not without actually looking at your site or talking to your web host support, no.

So that part, you may have to ask them.

@andrea Thanks for all your help!

I’m 99.9% certain I’ve changed all the instances of /edinburgh to /edinburghandlothians in the DB. Most were either in wp_23_options, wp_23_posts and _wp_23_redirection (23 is the number of the blog) but also loads in wp_1_redirection_logs. Is this the main table for the installation?

It’s still not working. I’m also worried that my 404 page seems to pick up the edinburgh and lothians header. See http://groups.wdm.org.uk/sdfsdxvcvx, for example.

Do you have any other suggestions? Could I possible have missed 1 or 2 instances of the old url in the DB? There are hundreds of them…

I am having the same issue……
