Blog Hacked!!!!???

    Hi

    I believe my blog has been hacked.

    I checked my website earlier and all the posts had been deleted – nothing apart from the actually theme with my logo was showing.

    So of course I try and log in….it says incorrect password. I go to forgotten password and type in email…it says that the email is not associated with my account.

    I know for a fact it is, that account is new. But I tried my other emails in case and nothing worked.

    So I put my username in, instead, but have received no email with a password.

    It seems like someone has hacked my account and changed the email address.

    What should I do?

    Please advise – I could just delete wordpress from my host cpanel…but any other suggestions?

    How could someone have hacked my account?

    Could it affect my other accounts and what would someone gain from hacking the website?

    All you Posts, Pages, Comments, Categories, etc are in your database
    Btw, backup/download the wp-content folder to your computer.

    Hi

    Thanks I will do that now…

    However I just accessed my database and all the posts have gone.

    I clicked on users though and can confirm the account was hacked. Some asshole has changed the email address and everything…

    I have their details…what should I do? is it possible to change the account address back to mine via cpanel?

    Contact your webhosting service and ask them if they have a backup of your database from last week, many good ones do, and either help you restore the database or restore it themselves.

    Thanks for your help here!

    Any ideas how hackers get in? Would it be through cpanel and my host or just through /wp-admin???

    Is it possible my other websites may be affected? Could it be due to a larger hack…for example my email address?

    If anyone reads this post, be vigilent 🙂 you never know…always backup!
