Blog from cellphone

I’d like to be able to blog photos from my cellphone. I have a sprint phone, and can email photos to any address. I know wordpress can be set up to do email->post, so it should be hackable to do:
email->”wget on picture link in email”->”wget image”->upload->post.

Can anybody give me any pointers on where to start? I’m a programmer, but my PHP is minimal.
