I have that problem as well. Yes this theme is good, I guess some tweaking or understanding is necessary.
Few more issues:
-Are you able to expand the text as in rendering on a mobile device.
I would appreciate your help in letting me know if we can add some more text in the author page, it is not allowing more than one sentence.
I see what you mean about the mobile site now. I, too, would like to add more text to the author section on the home page as well, but regardless, the mobile site truncates the text way too early.
The featured Image is also jumping out of the mobile site and narrowing down the page than it actually is. If you remove the image then it looks fine but with the image is looks really bad. I guess the theme owner has to step in to let us know where we are heading.
for the issue of the text in the author page:
Open includes > convac-custom-css.php find “.home .header-top-wrap,.home.front-page .header-top-wrap” and replace height: 720px; with min-height: 720px;
Then go to css > flexslider.css find .flex-caption and delete
height: 320px;
