Support » Fixing WordPress » Blog fails! can’t find admin page, can’t see blog

  • I just logged on to my blog this morning. It was working when I went to sleep and seems to be completely dead this morning. The blog itself says ‘done’ and shows a blank page.

Logging in to my admin page, I get a quick “Database update required” and quick redirect to the following URL and then the following error:

    Not Found
The requested URL /wp-admin/upgrade.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I went into ftp site and renamed the plugins folder to pluginsx but this didn’t help.

    Thanks for your help.
(I installed via Fantastico, so I don’t know much about what goes on under the hood.)
(This is the first time my trusty wordpress has failed me.)

  • Hmm. The problem went away. “One of those things?” Should I just cross my fingers that it doesn’t come back?
