• Hi, a web designer recently migrated my WordPress site to a new template. Since then, the blog defaults to http://thebullbustercafe.com/blog-2/

Looking at older forum topics about this issue, I checked my trash, found another “blog” and renamed it. There are no other files called “blog” that I can find.

How do I stop this from happening? It is impacting how sites getting my blog feed are behaving, and I’d like to correct it. I am not super technical, so prefer not to mess around in a database, and the current site is very customized, so I don’t want to mess anything up.

    Thank you!

  • Did you try emptying your Page Trash and then editing the permalink of your current main posts page (Blog) via Edit Page?

Wow they’ve got some kind of redirect in there.

Do you have any kind of redirection plugin installed?

I know it’s strange! I did rename the page to Blog and yet it directs to blog-2. No redirection plugin that I’m aware of.

Try changing the permalink to /blog/ , but that won’t work if there was a previous blog page in there that isn’t there anymore.

By the way when I edit the permalink it refuses to stay at blog and reverts to blog-2

Have you tried installing Custom Permalinks plugin and renaming it manually?

That means that you have or had a page that already has a URL of blog-2 …you may need to check your .htaccess file for the redirect.

Where do I find the .htaccess file?

No, I don’t know of that plugin – that won’t change all my other blog posts, if I install it? I read something about checking the WordPress permalinks before installing this plugin?
