Is it possible that allowing for any padding that one or more links are simply wider than the menu ?
Some links are wider, but you can see them drop to two lines.
But that’s not the issue. IE6 is adding extra indents to the left of the LI elements. Can you see it in IE6?
And the CSS is the same as yours.
When I got started on Listless
which is still under construction, this issue caused me some difficulty and I cant remember what I have done but the code is there. The important thing is that if one browser indents more than another that can be overridden with a style rule.
In particular anything ending li a needs the padding reset.
Redneck, Thanks for letting me see your source. With your diligent commenting I think I even understand what’s going on. Kinda the opposite of what I’m doing – whereas you had static pages already existing as html files, my “pseudo-static” content is all created and editable from within WP, it’s only “static” in the sense that it doesn’t look like posts ordered by date, and doesn’t change much. So I always run The Loop, but with a bunch of if statements to generate different markup for static, dynamic, public and hidden categories. Anyway, it’s been educational to see your PHP. Cheers.

That’s what I tried back in March. I started running into problems and got tried of debugging things. So when I started again this summer, I just did something a lot simpler.
