Blog closing for maintainance?

I would like to know if there’s a function of wordpress that could temporarily close the blog for visitors and only admins who has to login could read the blog?

If not, I suggest wordpress to have this function since it is better for admin to edit and test their webpages and fix problems or bugs while visitors couldn’t access the website.
