The built-in blog-by-email functionality is not that great. I suggest installing the Postie plugin and using that instead. It handles text a lot better and deals with images and videos and everything else. It can also filter the incoming email so other people won’t be able to post by emailing your email address, unless they’re on the approved list.

I have that installed but found the instructions to be weak.

i have it installed and configured in the cp-admin. but what cron job do I configure. I am tried the /plugins.postie/getmail.php wo which it replies I am missing a file

There’s an example of the cron job in the readme file that comes with Postie. Also, the Run Postie button on that screen does the same thing as the cron job, so any errors will get listed there when you try to run it.

That’s pretty weird. Are you running on something other than Apache?

I’m sorry to reply here but how do I start an original post? I see how to reply, but I’m not seeing how to start a new post.

I am a new person and trying to getblog by e-mail to work. What is the Postie plug in and where do I find it?
