# Blockquote Styling

 * Hello,
 * I just recently installed a new theme and everything is going well other than
   the block quotes. I am trying hard to change the background of the quotes in 
   the stylesheet but nothing seems to be working.
 * There wasn’t a piece of code for the quotes in the first place so I added this…
 *     ```
       .blockquote {
       border-left:5px solid #ddd;
       background:#eee;
       margin:15px 30px 0 10px;
       padding-left:20px;
       }
       ```
   
 * Please could someone help me out?

 * Could it be that in your css you are targetting a class – .blockquote
    blockquote
   is an HTML element so you can try deleting the period/full stop

 * I know I deactivated it made some changes to check, cleared the cache on my browser
   to make sure and when nothing changed after a while I reactivated it
 * I am using the W3 Total Cache plugin

 * if you mean the file, I was using the Theme Editior on the dashboard
    If you 
   mean where did I put the actual snippet, I put it in the stylesheet underneath
