Blocking instead of Throtteling

A user is complaining about being blocked on this page, although the settings say to only throttle. Looking at Live Traffic I am seeing the block – “Uster, Switzerland left https://360grad.studio/about-us/ and was blocked for Exceeded the maximum number of page not found errors per minute for humans. at https://360grad.studio/favicon.ico”.

This should have throttled, not blocked. As well, “favicon.ico” is whitelisted, so shouldn’t contribute to the blocking metrics.

Check your website in pingdom speed test.

not found. So fix it.

Thanks, but no thanks. The settings are to throttle and WordFence is blocking instead.

Please share a screenshot showing your “Rate Limiting” settings, also sharing another screenshot showing one of those entries in Live Traffic feed will be helpful.

Thanks for the follow up. I don’t see a way for loading images, so I will provide links.

Please note, originally I was throttling at 5 404s per minute, but upped that because of a bug I was experiencing in my staging plug-in. The settings, however, have always been Throttle.

Hello,

Thank you for the follow up. I took care of the root cause of the 404 and have not had any more instances to determine whether or not the situation has improved.
