# blocking comments

 * I have unticked the box “allow comments” and deleted all recent comments – including
   several that are spam – but when I visit my site these comments still appear.
   Is there something I’m missing here ?

 * Did you turn off comments from the settings panel?
 * If so you will need to go and disable comments for all you previous posts and
   pages, as comments will not have been turned of for these.
 * I think there’s a plugin that can do this for you though. Give it a Google.

 * I turned off comments from the settings page, but am still receiving email message
   asking me to moderate new ones.
