Blocking & Tackeling

  • I know this is basic and a frustrating question for seasoned users. I am running the latest version, the basic template, I have read the forum/manual submissions but do not understand how to change header art. I simply want to use a different piece of art. I have ftp, I know enough hacking to be dangerous, I cannot find where to edit the template (I think) file, or where to upload the art in order to change banner art.

  • Your header image is here:

    Simply rename kubrickheader.jpg to save it.
    Name the header image you want to replace it with to kubrickheader.jpg and upload it to the exact same place as above. That’s it – no hacking needed.

    Thanks I found kubrickheader.jpg and uploaded the new jpg file. Now both the old header and the new show. One overp=laps the other the new one seems to be a bit too big. How do I remove the old and edit the size of the new?

    Kubrickheader.jpg must exist somewhere else. I upload an entirely different file than what shows in the header when the page is refreshed.

    I have read the instructions but do not understand how to do this very basic thing.

    This may be a good time to provide a link so we might see what you’re up to.

    Ummm. you did see where you need to rename the old header? Or delete it.
    Or you’re not using the basic theme. I’ve done this easily for lots of folks. And a link is always a great idea.

    Apologies for not sending this earlier:

    I assume samboll means rename the old header art; kubrickheader.jpg? yes, I deleted the old one, replacing it with the header I wanted.

    Apologies, I left out a step Kubrick has an image and a background.
    Edite your style.css and remove or change this bit:
    #header {
    background-color: #73a0c5;

    Also, if you go to admin -> Presentation -> Current Theme Options, you can adjust a lot of header stuff. I don’t know exactly what you’re doing. but this might be a better option for you.

    Samboll, Your responses are appretiated. To what do I edit #header {
    background-color: #73a0c5;
    Also, I am aware of the options in Current Theme Options. I hope to be able to simply change the background art and use Current Theme Options to add the desired text.
