For a few hours now, whenever I try to access site administration from my blog (http://www.managingleadership.com/blog)I get a window telling me that there was an error establishing a database connection. This also happened now and then about a month ago, but I could get in after hitting refresh a few times. This time, nothing. Has anyone heard of this, or have any clues about what I can do about it? Here’s the text from the window I get when I try to get in:

    Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at mysql. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?
If you’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.

    Thanks!

    Jim

If you haven’t changed anything, then the most likely cause is that there is a problem with your MySQL server. Contact your host.

LesBessant – you were right – I called my host, they found nothing wrong in the site admin files, and said to wait ’till the evening to see if the MySQL servers restored access, which is what happened. No one seems to know why, though, so there is no way to assure that it won’t happen again. Anyway – thanks.
