# Blocked by Adblock

 * I have installed v1.3.1 on [http://blog.globalpettravel.com/](http://blog.globalpettravel.com/)
   and the sidebar widget is working fine. However, the widget is also included
   in the After Post Ad area and there it is being hidden whenever the Adblock browser
   extension is active. This happens in both Chrome and Firefox. Strangely, Adblock
   doesn’t report that it’s blocking anything on the page, even though it seems
   to be controlling this behavior. Any help that you can offer will be appreciated.

 * Howdy,
 * AdBlock works by blocking content that seems to be be an ad based on a set of
   rules made by AdBlock’s developers. Since the After Post Ad space does contain“
   ad” within the name, my thought is AdBlock would block anything within that section,
   not just my plugin.
 * Have you tried putting something else (either replacing or in addition to eNews
   Extended) in the after post ad space? Does that appear?

 * You’re right! A text widget in the After Post Ad area is also blocked by Adblock.
   Back to Studiopress with this one.

 * The suggestion there would be to rename the after post ad block to something
   else. Possibly just “After Post” would work since my hunch is the “ad” is the
   aspect at play.
 * You can rename this, likely, in your functions.php file. Be sure to backup the
   first first in case things go FUBAR and you may need to re-add the widgets to
   the “new” area.

 * That did it. I removed “ad” from both the After Post and After Content areas
   everywhere they occurred in functions.php. They showed up in 3 places: “Add after
   post ad section”, “Add after content ad section” and “Register widget areas”.
   Also renamed the classes .after-post-ad and .after-content-ad in style.css.
 * Widgets in these areas (including yours) now appear as expected. I have suggested
   to Studiopress that they make this change in their themes as well. Adblock claims
   that they are the most installed Chrome extension, with over 15 million users.
   Thanks again for your help.
