• I got an e-mail recently stating that Blockbuster Online is about to release their revamped website, but for now it can be viewed at: http://beta.blockbuster.com

And I was wondering now that Blockbuster has RSS feeds if someone could use this info to build a “My Queue” plugin for Blockbuster that’s like the Netflix one? Or at least could someone tell me how to edit the Netflix one to work with my Blockbuster Queue?

    Thanks.

Does everyone else use netflix? hehe

Well, could someone at least help me figure out what files/links I’d probably need to change in the Netflix plugin to get it to work with Blockbuster Online? I’m a little familiar with PHP but not enough to write plugins on my own. But I’ll give this my best shot. Thanks. 🙂

If it is relatively ‘standard’ RSS, any aggregator script (like my CG-FeedRead plugin) should be able to display it. It’s only if it uses custom XML fields that it starts getting a little bit trickier, a little more work on your end, or a custom-RSS-grabber like the netflix thing.

If you have a link to a ‘my queue’ feed, I’m happy to take a look at the output of the feed and see how it ‘maps’. My next version of CG-FeedRead will have a second mode of operation designed for custom XML sources, where you just access the fields and build the output HTML yourself (what I previously ‘hid’ for more novice users). And hopefully have a ‘template’ ability for various sites, so once one person designs a ‘mapping’, everyone can benefit.

If you don’t want to post a link publicly, use the about:contact form on my site.

    Hi,

just a quick question, did anyone manage to build a My Queue plugin for Blockbuster. That would be great.

    Thanks

    Alex
