Support » Plugin: WP Store Locator » Block Google Maps until user clicks on “OK” button (GDPR)

  • Depending on the interpretation of GDPR, a opt-in-solution is required before a connection to google servers is established.

I tried solving this issue with Borlabs Cookie. They claim however that WP Store locator hooks into the code very early and therefore can’t be blocked.

The developer of Borlabs Cookie claims: “I suggest customers to keep pinging the developer of WP Store Locator to support Borlabs Cookie. That’s no problem for him and would help many other customers too.”

Is there an option to either use a later hookie for the JS (so borlabs cookie can block the request adequately) or alternatively to implement a GDPR screen before any connections are established? I in fact think this could be an interesting add-on for your product ($19?).
