  • I don’t need help, I just couldn’t find anywhere else where I could give positive feedback about something.

I just wanted to say that I really like the block feature. It’s been a while since I touched my WP, so I’m not sure how long they’ve been a thing. Honestly, I was hesitant because there are so many sites and services that try to “upgrade their service” to try to make it look and work better and they fail horribly. You end up with UIs that feel clunky and features that are suddenly buried with users trying desperately to find how to do things that used to be front and center. It was honestly a breath of fresh air to take a chance and find that not only were all the features I use still within reach, but the overall interface for using blocks is intuitive and basically took no time at all to learn and go. And I appreciate that the old editor is still available.

Sorry if it’s weird to come here to gush, but considering how many sites and services I’ve been bitten by, it was nice to just see someone get it right. Maybe not perfect, but right.

  • For history’s sake, the block editor was released in WP 5.0 in December 2018.
You can read reviews at the Gutenberg plugin page. (The plugin is used for testing the code for upcoming releases, so if you want fixes, you can find them there first.)

And just so you know, there are a lot of people that do not find it intuitive.

Okay, well, I didn’t make this thread to argue with anyone whether it is intuitive or not, this was just in the hopes that someone from WP would see this and see that at the very least, I appreciate it and find it extremely easy to use. I appreciate the response, but that’s not really what this thread is for.
If anyone else disagrees with my feelings on the blocks, that’s perfectly fine, everyone has their own experience, but please keep posts out of this thread trying to tell me how MY opinion is wrong. Thank you.

I’m not arguing with you! I’m just filling you in on the environment (where to post a review and see others, and videos of other new user’s experiences with the editor).
Besides, it’s not really up to you what people get to say on your topic.

I think there are quite a few “ways of thinking”, and you just happen to match the way of the developers/designers. I personally don’t match that way, and I’ve seen a lot of questions on the forum here that indicate that those people didn’t either. But you are not alone. During the release, there were quite a large number of enthusiasts making noise in the Slack channel.
The editor seems to be one of those “love it or hate it” topics.
