Hi @jameskoussertari
Thank you for getting in touch.
We weren’t able to reproduce your issue on our test environment. The WordPress block or Gutenberg loaded immediately.
Here’s our test:
https://share.getcloudapp.com/12u7BNN5
Do you have a caching system such as
- Cache plugin;
- Server cache; or
- CDN
If you don’t have, kindly try adding one to help the load speed of the site.
Should the issue persists, can you try our troubleshooting guide to help isolate the issue?
https://docs.wppopupmaker.com/article/556-troubleshooting-your-first-popup#have-you-tried-turning-off-all-other-plugins-any-custom-code-and-switching-to-the-twenty-twenty-one-theme
We hope that helps. Let us know how it goes.
Hi Bel,
The error logs are showing this:
1 PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 536870912 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 4194568 bytes) in /wp-content/plugins/popup-maker/classes/AssetCache.php on line 582
WP Engine have a limit of 512MB memory. Is there anything which you can think of which would be causing it to need so much memory?
Thanks
Bel

Hi @jameskoussertari
Thank you for this information.
It seems it is connected to Popup Maker’s cached assets.
Our team has a fix available, and we’ll release a new version soon.
Here’s the link if you’d like to learn more about the fix.
https://github.com/PopupMaker/Popup-Maker/commit/95f21ec308cab06ee9054278625d77bcbdfcdac5#diff-e7811066f05647cffa94a0a5fa8ba3d1746a249a90ea746e7a96a9af229a7e86R133
Let us know if you have questions.
Excellent, I look forward to receiving the plugin update.
Also, you may want to know that Popup Maker doesn’t seem to play nicely with the plugin: Custom Post Types and Custom Fields creator – WCK.
It seems to cause the block editor to load even more slowly when both plugins are active. May or may not be related.
Thanks

Hi @jameskoussertari
We checked the Custom Post Types and Custom Fields creator (CPTCFC) – WCK plugin. However, the editor loaded immediately.
Here’s our test.
We might need to take a closer look. Can you send us a message through our support form here?
Support Request – Popup Maker
Please include the CPTCFC post link with a popup.
Thank you!
I have removed the CPTCFC plugin now and instead I am registering CPT and taxonomies in PHP. This speeds thing up a lot.
It must be a strange combination of caching and when both plugins are active it’s exhausting the memory available on WP Engine. Could even have something to do with WP Engine’s object cache but I have no idea to be honest.
I’ll await the updated version with the fix you mentioned previously and all should be well.
Thanks for your help 🙂
