Have never run in to this before, but hoping someone else has. After updating to 6.4 earlier today, the edit screen for a page looks rather bizarre. What would normally be the side panel is full width, and at the very bottom, it claims that in order to use the block editor, I need javascript enabled, or install the classic editor plugin. I’ve confirmed that javascript is in fact enabled, and also tried it on two different browsers with the same result. Of the 50 other WP sites I manage, I’ve not seen this, although I’m methodically going thru each one to see if there are others.

    Anyone else have this happen?

    Hmmm, 3 sites now.

Can you show the view as a screenshot? You are welcome to upload it here, for example: https://imgur.com/

Do you have any anomalies under Tools > Site Health?

Can you deactivate all plugins as a test? Also try changing the theme you are using.

    Thanks. Screenshots here: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/5b96gx0a8a9bplqgjrtzw/h?rlkey=jldiyij5wsdqlcefcqlry3yud&dl=0

One of the sites is new enough that I was able to do a quick flip to the 2024 theme, and the problem went away. All 3 sites are on the Geneisis framework, similar child theme.

No anomalies on site health, other than “The optional module, imagick, is not installed, or has been disabled.”

Will contact the child theme vendor as well, but posting this here just in case 1) that isn’t the problem and 2) others have similar issues.

OK, problem solved. Seemed it was some errant code in the theme. Updated now.
