• Most of the script kids or the scums of the earth have access to zombie computers, blocking by IPs is kind of a futile exercise. Those scums tend to use the same user agent trying the log-in page, detecting the same user agent and blocking them permanently would be great. Currently I have to check the logs to find the user agent and add it into the blacklist, it would be great if the plugin could detect and add them into the blacklist. Thanks!

Hi, I understand what you mean.

Do you have one of the Brute Force features enabled in the plugin like Rename the login page?

Thanks for the reply. The number of banned IPs could run to thousands and thousands. If we could ban by user agents, those attempts could be stopped by .htaccess rules, much efficient than through plugin checking against the list of banned IPs.

Have you checked the following Enable IP or User Agent Blacklisting: located under Blacklist Manager? Here you can list all the user agents you want to block from your site.

That is what I have been doing, but I must get user agents from traffic logs to add them into the blacklist manager. It would be great if plugin at least tracks user agents, so users can manually add them into the blacklist. For users have no access to raw traffic logs, they have no ways of adding user agents into the blacklist. The only way is blocking the IPs – there are thousands upon thousands zombie computers – we would end up with a big database of zombie computers’ IPs, slowing the system down.

Hi, in some cases you might decide to block a whole country because some hackers come specifically from a few countries around the globe. The following premium addon country blocking can help you further. This would prevent the database from growing large.

Let me know if this helps you or not.

    Regards

Those scumbags have control over of a network of zombie computers scattered all over the world, banning by country is not useful at all. Those people tends to bombard websites with a single user agent from all zombie computers under control.
