I have Page Builder by SiteOrigin version Version 2.9.6, and it has an animation option for each widget, which I like very much.

I just installed the same plugin in a new website that I’m building, and there’s no animation tab!!!???

    What happened to the animations?

    Hi cobberas63,

SiteOrigin Premium, our premium offering, includes functionality called Block Animations. Do you have SiteOrigin Premium installed on your site that has the Animations settings group? You can check this by opening that website and navigating to WP Admin > Plugins > Installed Plugins and looking for SiteOrigin Premium.

If you do have SiteOrigin Premium, you’ll need to install SiteOrigin Premium on your other website also.

If you don’t have SiteOrigin Premium installed on your other site, it’s quite likely you have a third party plugin adding this functionality. I’m not too sure what plugin that is but you’ll need to install that other plugin onto your other website also.

This is very odd. I have the “Page Builder by SiteOrigin” plugin (not “SiteOrigin Premium”) and no other plugin that provides animation effects.

Yet the Page Builder interface has all 4 Widget Styles tabs on every widget – Attributes, Layout, Design and Animation.

Did you perhaps have the Animation option in the earlier non-Premium versions?

    Hi cobberas63,

Thanks for checking. This suggests that something else is adding the animations, what that is I’m not 100% sure. I would run a quick plugin conflict test to identify what’s adding it. This is not to suggest you’re experiencing a plugin conflict, you’re not, only that a plugin conflict test is also a good way of knowing what is adding what.

Here are the plugin conflict instructions we typically recommend:

Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

Did you perhaps have the Animation option in the earlier non-Premium versions?

No. Block Animations have always been a SiteOrigin Premium feature and were never present in the base plugin.

Please note that SiteOrigin Premium is an enhancement plugin so Page Builder by SiteOrigin would still be present if you had SiteOrigin Premium installed.

I’ve deactivated every single plugin except for Page Builder by SiteOrigin and the Animations tab is still present and functional.

Please note that SiteOrigin Premium is an enhancement plugin so Page Builder by SiteOrigin would still be present if you had SiteOrigin Premium installed.

So I’d be seeing both plugins, right? Page Builder by SiteOrigin and SiteOrigin Premium

I’m definitely not seeing SiteOrigin Premium in the list of plugins.

If it’s any help, here’s a page where I’ve used a fade-in animation on the first para, that says

Saving just one horse will not change the world… But surely it will change the world for that one horse.

    Hi cobberas63,

Thank you for the link to your website with animations. Your theme, Flash Pro, is adding the animations. You’ll need to either use the same theme (it’s possible their other themes also has this functionality) or install a plugin that adds animations (such as SiteOrigin Premium) to be able to use them.

So I’d be seeing both plugins, right?

    Correct.

Ahhhh, got it – the Flash Pro theme has a Settings button that allows animations to be switched on/off on the Page Builder by SiteOrigin plugin !!!

Thanks for helping me navigate through the rabbit warren 🙂
