Support » Plugin: Broken Link Checker » BLC Clashing with W3 Total Cache, Crashing Site

  • Has anybody else been having trouble with BLC overloading W3TC and causing the site to crash to all 404 errors? Things were running fine until I installed BLC and then the site crashed. This is the error log I have from my server (domain obscured):

    PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 32 bytes) in /var/www/xxxxxxxxx/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/lib/W3/ObjectCache.php on line 191

    Can anyone offer some help on this? Would be a shame not to be able to use BLC with W3TC.

  • If you have access to your PHP.ini file, change the line in PHP.inii that shows 32M try 64M or even 128M:
    memory_limit = 64M ; Maximum amount of memory a script may consume (64MB)

    If you don’t have access to PHP.ini try adding this to your .htaccess file:
    php_value memory_limit 64M

    Try adding this line to your wp-config.php file:
    define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ’64M’);
