@photocrati thank you. I wanted to make sure before attempting. You don’t think NextGen Gallery will come out with a fix?

@melobster – we’re currently looking into this, if it’s third-party plugin related, it’s unlikely there’s much we could do to prevent the white screen if it’s being caused by another plugin. But if there is anything we can do, we’ll of course provide a solution for it. Right now, we’re having difficulty replicating the same error, and this is why we need as much information (see here) from those who are experiencing the error, as possible.

Having the same blank screen issue and unable to access the Add Gallery/Images & Options screens.

@bloggingguru – Could you provide the following information so we can confirm the issues you’re seeing are not caused by a theme or other plugin?

    Who are you hosted with?
    What theme are you running?
Which plugins do you have installed and activated?
Does this error still occur if you switch your theme to the WP default, and deactivate all plugins except NextGEN Gallery? (*be sure to clear your browser cache and reload your site after deactivating)

@photocrati We have never had any issue until this update of WordPress.

Who are you hosted with? – omnis.com

What theme are you running? – Custom

Which plugins do you have installed and activated? –

    • NextGEN Gallery
    • NextGEN Custom Fields
    • JSON API
    • ThickBox

Does this error still occur if you switch your theme to the WP default, and deactivate all plugins except NextGEN Gallery? (*be sure to clear your browser cache and reload your site after deactivating) –

Yes it does. We did all of the standard checks you stated and still have the issue.

@bloggingguru – Would you mind emailing us directly [here], with your WP login, and FTP information so one of our developers can dig deeper into your site to see if they can find the root cause?

It’s curious, because so far deactivating or upgrading other plugins has fixed this error for other users. Do any of your plugins show an update available? If not, please send the above info to us via email and we’ll check and see if we can find the cause.

    Thanks!

@photocrati – I deactivated and reactivated my plugins and I’m still getting a white screen. my system info was in a previous post. let me know if you need anything else. Thank you.

    @photocrati

I actually sourced a piece of customized code we added via the functions file that caused it to stay that way. When edited and the same process you outlined was done it corrected the issue.

Thanks and apologies for the false alarm.

I think I found the solution for our site – I removed wp_enqueue_style elements from functions.php and it worked.

I have the same issue and for me the issue is resolved if I change my theme. I am using Arjuna X version 1.7.1. If I switch to the twenty twelve theme the problem is gone.

I am using the following versions:

    WordPress 3.5
    NextGEN 1.9.8

    MySQL Serverversie: 5.1.36-log
Web server Apache MySQL-client versie: 5.1.36
    phpMyAdmin Versie informatie: 3.2.0-beta1

    Who are you hosted with?
I run my website from my own NAS

    What theme are you running?
    Arjune X 1.7.1

Which plugins do you have installed and activated?
    Akismet
    Jetpack
    Make pdf newspaper
    Orangebox
    subscribe2
    Wordpress video plugin

I de-activated all plugins one by one, but nothing worked. In fact, it’s been like this for a while now, so for me the last updates didn’t change antyhting but kept the photo pages empty.

    Check: http://www.vascovandervalk.nl/foto/

I was able to fix this with editing my functions.php file — the wp_enqueue_style section

#isserdude – thank you for posting a possible solution for me. Can you tell me where I go to edit my functions.php file? I have a custom theme and I’m not sure where I go to do what you suggest. Thank you

I went to Edit Plug-ins and under NextGen Gallery plug in I found nextgen-gallery/admin/functions.php (inactive). In the code I could not find wp_enqueue_style section.
Can someone help me? I’ve had too many down days now and I need to update my website with updates and need add/manager the pictures on a certain page and I can’t because of what’s going on with NextGen Gallery.

    Thank you in advance!
    Vicki

    @vicki
My workaround for the moment is to switch to a different theme (twenty twelve) temporarily, upload and edit my post and then switch back to my original theme. At least this works until the problem is found.

Maybe you also need to deactivate some or all of your plugins temporarily, make your posts and switch ‘m back on.

    good luck

    Buck
