[resolved] Blank Website After Updating Theme (5 posts)

H'ooookay. I seem to have pretty bad luck with wordpress for some reason. So here's what happened...

My site was working fine but I decided I just HAD to update the theme. The theme is called "daisho" so I renamed the old theme folder "daisho-old" and uploaded the new version to the themes folder via FTP. When I refresh my site, everything is blank. I still have admin access to the dash but it gives me the famed "ERROR: The themes directory is either empty or doesn’t exist. Please check your installation."

twentyeleven and twentyten are also in the themes folder when you look at it in a FTP client. On the dashboard themes page the only theme visible and active is twentyeleven. I tried renaming twentyeleven to twentyeleven-temp to see if it would change anything but nothing happened.

    Running: WordPress 3.4.2
    Host: zymic.com
    Website: pyoungdesign.zxq.net

    Plugins (all deactivated):
    - Akismet Version 2.5.6
    - Contact Form 7 Version 3.3.1
    - Hello Dolly Version 1.6
    - Typography Version 2.0
    - WordPress Importer Version 0.6

I would really like to get the site on the old theme version up and running first and foremost... and then figure out a more reliable way to update the theme.. It would be nice if I didn't have to do a complete reinstall of both wordpress and the new theme version (had to do that last month...)

Anyways, would really appreciate some help. Let me know if there are questions about things I've done or my configurations..

Where did you download this theme from?

commercial themes are sometimes packed/zipped differently from those themes at http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/

the best is to contact the theme's seller (themeforest) for support.

commercial themes are generally not supported by this forum.
