Support » Theme: Twenty Twelve » Blank sites in Safari

  • Hello. I have a user who is not seeing a couple of websites when using the newest version of the Safari browser on Windows 7. I had her reset Safari to the defaults. Both sites are running the Twenty Twelve theme and when she goes there, no text shows. You can see there’s space for the menu and the blog posts and the widgets, but the text isn’t showing. Images are. Text with the em tag is. And some bullets but not the text. Everything else is blank. I am stumped! Ideas?

  • Have any of these 2012 themes been edited?

    Only using the tools available within the theme… nothing has been edited directly. I suspect it’s something in her Safari but I don’t even know where to start looking!

    Eep! I take that back. I’m using child themes. On one of them, the style sheet has the parent css imported, plus this:

    .entry-header {
    	margin-bottom: 6px;
    footer.entry-meta {
    	margin: 0 0 24px;
    	margin: 0 0 1.714285714rem;
    .hms-testimonial-container {
    	padding: 12px 0;
    	border-top: 1px solid #ededed;
    .widget_hms_testimonial_view {
    	font-size: smaller;
    	line-height: 1.714285714;
    .author {
    	text-align: right;
    	padding-right: 15px;
    .author:before {
    	content: "- ";

    And I’ve edited the meta info to take some things out. That’s it.

    I have exactly the same problem with Safari latest version for Windows 7 on my computer: No text showing, only the pictures. I have checked on many web sites using WP2012 theme with or without child theme and the problem is general… well, on my computer! I have check with friends using Safari on Mac and there is no problem on their machine. Seem to be a Windows-Safari related problem.

    Here is the answer I get from another forum:
    “Safari for Windows is an outdated browser that is not supported anymore, I believe for a couple of years already. For your own good – stop using it.

    In short – Tiny Forge (a theme derived from Twenty Twelve) will not be changed to support Safari for Windows.
    More info about this issue.”

    Hope this help.
