Bob: When I do a view source on your page, I see `
<script type=”text/javascript”>(function (d, w) {var x = d.getElementsByTagName(‘SCRIPT’)[0];var f = function () {var s = d.createElement(‘SCRIPT’);s.type = ‘text/javascript’;s.async = true;s.src = “//np.lexity.com/embed/YW/7c98e1418cff695659ac3d250e878ad3?id=74f4de957da1”;x.parentNode.insertBefore(s, x);};w.attachEvent ? w.attachEvent(‘onload’,f) :w.addEventListener(‘load’,f,false);}(document, window));</script>`
And when I try http://detroitmoviepalaces.com/blog/wp-admin/, I see a directory listing. If you have a backup of your site from earlier than Dec. 26, you might try restoring, then carefully updating again.
Thanks for the suggestions.
I’m just now getting back to this. I tried restoring the database using the instructions for phpMyAdmin at http://codex.wordpress.org/Restoring_Your_Database_From_Backup. That didn’t do anything, and now at http://detroitmoviepalaces.com/blog/ I see a directory listing.
Is there any way to create a new blog and pull the information from the database backup into this new blog? I don’t mind losing the theme, I’m just trying to figure out how to get about nine years of content back online.
Thanks,
Bob
Bob: Your site is missing the index.php file that comes with WordPress. Grab a copy of the latest version from wordpress.org and upload it to your site. I think that will help.
I tried that and now http://www.detroitmoviepalaces.com/blog/ is blank again, with the same source code that you noted before.
I’m working with the WinSCP FTP tool, and I’m noticing a lot of differences between the contents of the 4.2.2 download, and what is on my host server. For example, the wp-admin folder on my host server has the subfolders css, network, and user. The wp-admin folder in the 4.2.2 download has those three subfolders plus subfolders named images, includes, js, and maint.
Should I try to sync up the download directory with the /blog/ directory on my host server as much as possible?
Thanks,
Bob
It appears you have a non-standard WP setup. You need to talk to your hosting provider.
It’s working now. I guess I’ve been overly cautious about changing what was on the host server, because of the blank screen, which I never saw before. I just copied in everything from last December’s backup and the blog looks OK now: http://www.detroitmoviepalaces.com/blog/
Thanks for all your suggestions.
Bob
