Support » Installing WordPress » Blank page on WP 2.7 fresh install (from scratch)

  • Hi guys!

I’m setting up a blog for a friend, I’ve done it several times so I’m somehow used to it, but this time is driving me plain crazy since yesterday.

I’ve doubled, tripled and quadrupled checked wp-config file. WP requirements are ok. Database is working. I’ve read almost 80 posts with problems alike, tried everything that made sense to me. Nothing.

Most weird thing is that the same host had a WP 2.5.1 working a few days ago, but had problems uploading images because of the swfupload. Everything is backed up, don’t worry xD

Well… I’ll really appreciate any hand you can give me, even if trying that also doesn’t work. Thanks!!!

(Oh, and sorry for my bad english).

  • Well… some advance: on install.php, line 21, if I comment the

require_once('./includes/upgrade.php'); line it displays the usual “Blog title” and mail form… but then it stucks on step 2.

I also don’t know what does it when it loads the “WordPress Administration Upgrade API”.

That’s all I know right now.

Having the same problem, blank page after upload, I know my host supports wordpress and I have put the files into the web-root folder. Neither web-root/index.php or web-root/wp-admin/install.php shows anything but a blank page.

Seems I solved my problem. There was a problem with my ftp program I think it had something to do with binary or ACII mode. After changing ftp-program it worked fine.
