Support » Plugin: Post Snippets » Blank page on second update

  • Resolved wpopas

I’m trying to add a form to a snippet. I can save the form but if I try to continue and save snippets again i get a blank page.

I’m trying to save a normal html form element that has action attribute. If I take the action attribute away the problem goes away.

    To duplicate the issue:

    1) Add a new snippet that contains the following text:

You don’t need anything else, this seems to be the magic part that breaks the update functionality for some reason.
    2) Click Update snippets (this goes okay)
    3) Click Update snippets again –> blank page

If I remove the action=” I can update as many times as I want.

This really bothers when I’m developing and editing snippets. Only way to bypass this is to update snippets then click post snippets from the menu again which is frustrating.

  • This has become one of my favorite plugins, but I’m getting a blank page when updating snippets, also.

I hope this is resolved soon, this is such a useful plugin.

It seems that this issue happens only in Google Chrome.

After the first update you can see the following warning in Chrome’s developer tool:

The XSS Auditor refused to execute a script in ‘/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=post-snippets/post-snippets.php’ because its source code was found within the request. The auditor was enabled as the server sent neither an ‘X-XSS-Protection’ nor ‘Content-Security-Policy’ header.

IE and Firefox seem to work okay when updating multiple times in a row.

I just released version 2.3.3 that should prevent Chrome from interfering when snippets contains certain code elements.
