  • There might be a lot of causes depending on os, php version etc.
Try a search for “blank page step 2”

It always what i did before asking a question :). But i’m still searching for informations. I’ll post all the solutions i’ll find that didn’t apply to me to help others to give good advise.

    thx for help

Maybe somebody will jump in with a solution if you give more information about the settings, versions etc. As I browsed the search results I noticed it has happened on different OS, PHP and MySQL version combinations and so on. But based on the info you provided (which is nil) nobody will be able to help you.

I readed this post http://wordpress.org/support/topic/4213 and i wasn’t good for me cause it’s not a mySQL installation problem, cause i have some others pages that use php and mySQL without problem.

Sorry i was sure that i gave my version:

    PHP 5.0.4
    MySQL 4.0.22
    Linux sirius 2.6.9-1.681_FC3

It’s on a web hosting so i can’t really change this.

    thx for help

It’s really bad for this program that so many peoples have so many problems to install it… I never seen this, and it’s seems to be a really good program. 🙁

Is there a manual way i can install this, like doing the insert into the db myself or things like that?

I’ve seen a few solutions suggested through the support pages, but I had to discover a different one.

I’d forgotten to add ‘index.php’ to the DirectoryIndex line in my httpd.conf file (for Apache). Added, restart, and I’m off and running. (Well, I then messed up MySQL config, but I’m working on that. mutter.)

That wasn’t this for me, a friend of mine modify it, so as soon as i have an answer i’ll post it. But a major problem is that in the install the error are handle by wordpress and not displayed, so it’s why people have blank page instead or error… This shouldn’t be this way…
