• I’m trying to install WP on a Linux system. Apache, MySQL and PHP all seem to work properly, but when I run the install.php script I only get a blank page. The script seems to execute, because if I remove my wp-config.php it gives me an appropriate error message.

The only entry in Apache’s error log is a “File does not exist: /var/www/wordpress/favicon.ico” each time I try to run the installation.

There have been a few other posts about blank pages, but I haven’t found any solution. Ideas anyone?

  • That error won’t be preventing the script from running, it happens with any website without a favicon defined. Are all the permissions set correctly? (and does it need to be in /var/www/html/wordpress? – i might be wrong…)
