Support » Fixing WordPress » Blank page after upgrading the dashboard of my wordpress blog

  • Hi,

I was running an old version of WordPress (around 2.9) and I clicked on the upgrade button in my dashboard and it seems to have upgraded to version 3.0.1 fine.

However when I next went to login to my dashboard it says:

    Database Upgrade Required

WordPress has been updated! Before we send you on your way, we have to upgrade your database to the newest version.

The upgrade process may take a little while, so please be patient.

    Upgrade WordPress Database

When I click the upgrade wordpress database button it just takes me to a blank page with the wordpress logo at the top.

Any idea what could be wrong?

    Blog URL is http://www.footyblog.net

    Thanks

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins.
    – switching to the Twenty Ten or Kiubrick theme.
    – re-running the upgrade

    Hi,

Not too sure how to deactivate the plugins when I can’t access the dashboard? Or changing the theme?

I’ve tried clicking on upgrade dashboard a few times but it just does the same thing.

    Thanks

    Try:
    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.
