I am creating a new blog that points my domain biocharsolution.com to WordPress. Today I installed a new theme but the page came back blank after activation. It occurred to me it might have to do with the WordPress version, so I pressed the button and upgraded. Then not only was my top page blank, but also my log-in page, and all other pages in the domain. Since I cannot log-in, my troubleshooting options have been relegated to this forum.

Can you get in via FTP?

Delete the new theme. That will default your site back to the twenty-ten theme. See if that works.

I can get in by FTP but I am not finding the new theme. I show 6 directories: public.html, logs, usage, tmp, phpMyAdmin, and cgi-bin. Within phpMyAdmin there is a subdirectory called themes but within that is only the original theme.

I found the offending theme within the pubic.html/wp-content directory and successfully deleted it. Unfortunately, I am still getting a blank screen.

Okay, I managed to log in again and am back to version 2.9. The default theme is operational. Problem resolved. Thanks!
