• All I was really trying to do was clone my site to another folder. All I got after several tries, both through the interface on the original site, and using the XCloner.php file on the new folder, was a 404 page.

At one point I tired “moving” what I thought was the backup file I had made, but what was apparently my entire original site to the new folder. It never installed the db to the new location, so I did that manually. Even with changes to the url in the db (and of course the db info to the wpconfig file, the backend worked fine, but it still tried to open to the original url.

Anyway, now it hits me that the original live site is down. The original site’s folder was empty except for an error log. I uploaded the backup tar file and unpacked it. My db did not seem to have been affected by all of this so I thought I was good to go.

When I tried to log in, I got a blank screen. I ftp’ed into the site and changed the name of the plugins folder, and was then able to log in. I went into the plugin folder and deleted the XCloner plugin folder, and changed the site plugin folder back to its name and was again able to log in.

Upon activating my regular plugins, I got fatal error warnings for Bullet Proof Security, Wordfence, and SEO Ultimate (not bad considering I had 21 other plugins that activated without issue). I deleted the three and reinstalled them from the WordPress repository without further issue.

This is not a support request, but for your information only. I have not had much luck with this plugin in the past but thought I would give it another shot. Needless to say, I think I will leave it alone from now on. lol

You have happy users, so best of luck to you and them in the future.
