My blog has started generating a blank page (empty body) now. Suspiciously coinciding with a kernel update although all the individual pieces seem to be working. PHP seems to be running (quick “hello world” test), MySQL seems to be working (tested command-line interactions). All other web stuff is working.
Has anyone seen this before or have any ideas?
    Running WordPress 1.2. MySQL 4.1.0, PHP 4.3.8, Apache 2.0.48. under FreeBSD 5.2.1

  • All we did was recompile the kernel with IPDIVERT, and now we only get blank pages for every blog page we try. Nothing seems to be working anymore – only blank pages. I’ve re-installed mod_php 4.3.8 and verified it works, as does mysql.
I tried the absolute pathname replacement for __FILE__ and ‘../’ in all php files, but this didn’t fix our problem.
Does anybody have *any* clues to offer ?

Ok, I’ve done some more debugging and narrowed it down to a failure in calling @mysql_connect during the constructor call for wpdb in the file wp-db.php. It’s using localhost, and a mysql username and password that I’ve verified work on localhost (as they also did before our new firewall-capable kernel was installed).
I’m pretty clueless about mysql administration – any hints as to where to look next?
