Blank black screen

  • After several days of working fine, my website went to a blank black screen. It loads, only displays black. I set debug to true, and received a long list of errors relating to 3 plugins and functions.php.

I deactivated all three plugins, a language translator, My Category Order and WP Super Cache. The translator was added last week.

I still get a blank, black screen on my site. All errors messages except the function.php [has_cap was called with an argument that is deprecated since version 2.0! Usage of user levels by plugins and themes is deprecated. Use roles and capabilities instead. in …/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3387] are now gone…

I’m a small brained business owner working on my own site, not an expert. Any help would be much appreciated!

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

I’ve done all of these. I now can no long access in WordPress, so reset plugins by FTP.

When browsing to my site, I now see “Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/gdwadmin1/globaldesignworkshop.com/wp-config.php on line 8”

By the way, wp-config.php on line 8″ is define(‘DB_NAME’, ‘globaldesignworkshop_com’); // The name of the database, and the database name is correct.
