Black Screen 500 Internal Server Error on Random Woocommerce Products Each Day
-
Elementor has been working fine with me the past months until recently. I didn’t make any different changes on my website. But last week I found out that some products cannot load because of a “Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 180 seconds exceeded” which I thought was something I could fix. With each passing day, a random product or few more in my Woocommerce store would become inaccessible in the same way… I did what I thought could fix this issue (e.g., cleaning up database and unnecessary files) but nothing worked. And the problem continued…
Now it has started to become only Black Screen 500 Internal Server Error on the random products that got affected. It seems every day, there will be at least one more random product that gets “infected” with this fate. I still have working products, but it’s like every passing day, there is at least one more random product that will start having this fate. I even rolled back to an earlier version of Elementor and the issue is still there.
Today I just found out the problem really has to do with the Elementor plugin. (By deactivating the plugin, the Black Screen product pages load fine, but the page looks out of place due to now lacking the customizations from Elementor.) Even renaming the /wp-content/plugins/elementor folder and then doing a fresh new reinstall of an earlier Elementor version doesn’t fix it. I also found out that when I click on “Edit with Elementor” for Single Product Page, it will not work and lead to a 503 Error. (It seems only Elementor for Single Product Page doesn’t work while other Edit With Elementor pages do work?)
Note: I didn’t directly update the Elementor plugin, but the issue started recently, like in the last 2 weeks, so might have to do with a recent Elementor update. I didn’t have auto-update turned on before either, but found out days ago my plugins are automatically updated which I wasn’t aware of. So even though you guys did put the warning about the recent big Elementor update, and I did deliberately avoid updating Elementor… somehow it happened behind the scenes anyway. I noticed there’s no option for turning on/off auto-updates either. Anyway, wanted to point out that people whose plugins somehow get updated automatically without their knowledge, can get affected by the recent update (like me who had auto-update turned off for most plugins and didn’t check the plugins page much).
Anyway, I hope you can look into this “each day, random product get this black screen 500 Internal Server error situation” and at least provide me a solution where I need to look. Installing an earlier version of Elementor doesn’t fix it. Perhaps I can look into database(?) where there might be Elementor-related data, but I am not familiar with what and where to look or which tables to pay attention to…
Also I cannot just ditch Elementor because my website will look horrible once the plugin gets deactivated… Elementor directly affects most of my sites design and look.
I hope you can look into this issue and hope if anyone else have similar issue, they can find this too. And if anything is unclear, feel free to ask for clarification. Thanks!
