    Hi,

when you click a link and a page loads, there can be seen a black background behind all links throughout the page. It’s just a flash for a split second, but still visible (and rather concerning).

It has to do with Generatepress, as no other theme does it. I didn’t made any changes to the theme files. I’m editing a child theme, and this issue affects both my child theme and stock Generatepress. If I switch to 2020 or any other theme, the issue is gone.

I carefully checked all linked css files, but didn’t find anything that might be responsible for this. Any help would be appreciated.

It’s on localhost for now, can’t submit a link.

  • Hi there,

It’s hard to tell what’s the cause without being able to inspect the site.

Any chance you can move it to a staging site we can check to identify the cause?

    Let us know. 😀

    Hi @ejcabquina,

thanks for the quick reply. I believe it’s a false alarm, for which I need to apologize.

On further experimenting, the issue can only be experienced in Firefox and must be related to some plugin. While I tested it in a private window with all plugins off, it was still noticeable but when I actually removed some plugins, e.g. Dark Reader, it was no longer there.

The strange thing is, I never experienced this before — FF is my default browser — plus I have the same extensions installed for Chrome and they also never have been an issue.

Anyways, please consider it solved and thanks for your support.

Perhaps it’s a simple browser caching issue?

Glad you got it sorted. no problem. 🙂
