When I click Start Static Site Export, it runs for a while and then stops with a big red X and no entries in the log field. The download zip file button is disabled.

I’ve installed version 4.0 of the plugin. The site is running a child theme of Twenty Thirteen on WordPress 4.9.7. The menus are formed using the RPS Include plugin, so short code at the top of each page referencing another page that displays the menu.

I found files in the Uploads directory and the index page loads with no background image and no menu; that is, no clickable access to the other pages. When I enter the URLs for the other pages, they come up with unstyled text and no bg images. The menus appear on those pages in 48 point or larger type.

It looks like it would be several hours work to wrestle this into shape for public viewing. But, maybe that’s the best that can be done?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi pwforaker,

Thanks for trying the plugin, let’s try to get it running for your specific setup.

Usually, the Export Log provides helpful diagnostic information, so if that’s not showing, we should look at the PHP error logs for your system for an error reported at the time of exporting.

Could you please paste the output here or let me know more about your hosting provider/setup if you’re unable to find the logs.

There’s a few things we can try.

    Cheers,

    Leon

Here’s an extract of the error log:

    [Tue Jul 10 13:40:04.501931 2018] [access_compat:error] [pid 947:tid 140296409802496] [client 31.184.199.148:61902] AH01797: client denied by server configuration: /home/pwf/public_html/iv/integralview.org/index.php

    <snip>

So, I checked .htaccess and did not find 31.184.199.148 in the deny from list.

    Next steps?

    Hi @pwforaker,

Thanks for sharing the log info.

Do you have any WordPress security related plugins installed?

Some may block many requests in a short period of time or such, that is preventing the crawl from doing its work.

You could try disabling all plugins and seeing if the export completes. If it does, then turn on the plugins one by one until you find the conflict.

    Cheers,

    Leon

Sorry, I posted my response to the wrong forum. This problem turned out to be user error. I modified a theme file and left a stray comma. All better now. Sorry for the extra noise.
