    Restoring from Import File Problem.

I have installed 64 bit WordPress for Windows 10 64 bit. I have it running and am logged in, with no problem. I have updated it so that its version number now reads: 5.9.1 from the lower right corner. I have deactivated and deleted every plugin that WordPress comes with by default. I have then installed the free version of ‘WordPress Backup & Migration’ plugin.

I have a website archive that I need to store.

From the Dashboard, I have gone:
    [Dashboard\WordPress Migration\Backup & Migration\Import/Restore\…]

I have clicked on ‘Drop files here or click to upload’.
Now, my file has been renamed from the original date and time, and is now named 8.zip. I have Right clicked on the file, and selected ‘Unblock’ and clicked ‘Apply’.

From ‘Drop files here or click to upload’, I have selected 8.zip and pressed ‘Open’. I watch a jerky blue progress bar jerk its way from the left until the right, until the blue progress bar is completed.

The Import area now reads: ‘Drop files here or click to upload
    (tick) Upload Completed.
Please click on the Import button to proceed.
    8.zip
    Remove’

I then click the blue ‘Import’ button.

A brief yellow message appears and is taken away, too fast for me to read. What is left is a message at the upper right of the screen, stating, with a spelling error: ‘Somehting went wrong! Can’t open zip file.’

How can I make the plugin progress past this point, restoring all the resources that were originally put in my .zip file, and which still seem to be there, intact? Certainly be means of the free version of the plugin, ‘WordPress Backup & Migration’? I must only rely on the free version of the plugin, and I need to relload all of my web page resources! How can I get this working? I believe that my 8.zip file is not corrupted. If necessary, I can email 8.zip to you, so that you can try and check it out, get it working, and reply back to me with what I need to successfull do. How can I get all of my website resources back? Can you reply to me with an email address? 8.zip is 701 MB big. Can someone please reply to this urgent problem, so that I can load my pages in and get going again, please?

I have filmed the slowed down flash-in, flash-out message that I get after loading the file and trying to import it into wordpress. It has told me something
    about login credentials.

I don’t see what this means, and I don’t know what I need to do to get importing of my website, and all its associated resources, to work successfully. If necessary, I can email my .zip file over there and get someone to look at it, my website isn’t really very private. How the heavens do I get my website to load in correctly, with the free version of this plugin?

If someone who can check, repair or manage to recombobulate my file, by loading it in with a better version of the plugin, and then outputting and communicate a healthier version of the .zip file, that should work for me, can they please do that? Getting my .zip file archive to work is the only way I have to get to my website project, with all my effort, at this point! Can someone please reply when they can, with their details and the file communication particulars I would need for a 701 MB .zip archive file?

    Hi @z1234,

We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience caused. If you are using the exported zip file directly without making any modifications, it should work without any such errors.

Please share the screen recording of the import process via this link privately so that we will have a better understanding of the issue.

I am always using my own computer, which is Windows 10 64 bit Home Edition.

The only thing that I did to the zip file was unblock it, and then rename it,
away from the date/time format the plugin writes it in, to be 8, supposedly
    my 8th successful file backup.

The problem is, that I can’t reload it, or any of the 7 previous .zip archives other. I only need the most recent one, number 8. Only it doesn’t work.

Which leaves me with no website project to either complete or one day post online
for real! Can you guys please get me to the point so that I can at least successfully upload and import my project back into WordPress, well and working, again?

    Hi @z1234,

As per the info you shared, we have tested the scenario in Windows 10 localhost and weren’t able to replicate the error. Since you have the site back now, we are marking this as resolved here.

We will be doing further testing under PHP 8 and will be fixing the issues, if any.
