    Hey, you broke Chrome! 😉
After updating Yoast SEO to 8.2, when I try to copy-paste something into wordpress editor, it crashes.
Note that it happens only in Chrome, other browsers work fine (I also tried to update Chrome to latest version, and clean all the data – cache, history, cookies etc. – it didn’t help).

When I restored the plugin to previous version (8.0) it solved the problem.

  • I also noticed this problem when editing events from EventOn calendar plugin (other things we’re working ok).
Started crashing after yesterdays update to 8.2. probably some JS clashing, I deleted local storage in chrome, deleted JS/CSS cache on my page, didn’t fix the issue.

How do I roll back to 8.1.2 without losing all data?

    ?

Indeed, after applying the update we had two editors using Chrome reporting “Aw, Snap!” after a bit on the post edit screen, while everything else was apparently working fine. Switching to Firefox as well as downgrading to 8.1.2 [1] did remedy the issue.

[1] Through git revert, though manually replacing the wordpress-seo directory with an older version would probably be just as good. You should be able to check the 8.1.2 tag out from the official svn repo: https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wordpress-seo/tags/8.1.2.

Same problem here. Do you intend to fix that soon or do I have to downgrade?

    Hi @radekbaranowski @mmarkowska @mikegk,

We’d like to look into this issue some more.
Are you using the Polish language on your site by any chance?

Please let us know if you have any further information.

Yes, and the voyager theme from envato market

Polish, same issues on 3 different WordPress installations.

@marcanor – that’s right, I’m using Polish language, and guessing by the nicknames, so does the rest 😉

    “Aw, Snap!”
maybe it has something to do with the Yoast SEO plugin
when it’s off, it works fine

    Turning off “Readability analyzer” helps.

@soft-4-freecom @gonz00 Thanks for the suggestion and the workaround.

@mancyk This has been reported as a bug to our developers. Whereas we are unable to provide an ETA as to when this will be resolved, you can monitor the progress of the resolution on the issue report here.

    Same problem here.

Win7 – Chrome – WordPress and Yoast updated to their respective last versions (4.9.8 and 8.3)

    My webiste language is ITALIAN.

Editing some pages cause the website crash.

I solved by disabilng the “Readability analyzer”.
