Support » Networking WordPress » Big blog network, are those layers/hierarchy possible?

  • I want to build a big blog network.

basically I want it to work like this:

    main.com/site1
    main.com/site2

    layer1.main.com
    layer1.main.com/site1
    layer1.main.com/site2

    layer11.layer1.main.com
    layer11.layer1.main.com/site1
    layer11.layer1.main.com/site2

    layer12.layer1.main.com
    layer12.layer1.main.com/site1
    layer12.layer1.main.com/site2

    layer2.main.com
    layer2.main.com/site1
    layer2.main.com/site2

    layer21.layer2.main.com
    layer21.layer2.main.com/site1
    layer21.layer2.main.com/site2

    layer22.layer2.main.com
    layer22.layer2.main.com/site1
    layer22.layer2.main.com/site2

    etc…

each “layer” will be its own blog. each “site” is a subpage of this blog.

hope you understand what I mean.

    is this possible?

    thanks!

  • I think WPMU Dev has a plugin for that – however it is premium plugin.

Theres a free plugin called WP MultiNetwork that may do that, but I don’t remember if it works with subfolders and subdomains together.

Any of the multi network plugins will help you do this because you’re not nesting subfolders, just subdomains.
